Italia, euro ja systeemin kainalosauvat

Markkinat huolestuivat Italian tilanteesta ja erityisesti siellä mahdollisesti järjestettävistä uusista vaaleista joista samalla voisivat tulla vaalit euron asemasta maan valuuttana. Artikkelin kirjoittajan spontaani reaktio tilanteeseen on se, että Italialla ei luultavasti kuitenkaan tule olemaan muuta vaihtoehtoa kuin palata ruotuun ja jatkamaan, kuten muodikas nykysanonta kuuluu, tölkin potkimista katua eteenpäin. Vaihtoehto olisi yksinkertaisesti liian kivulias. Kaksi mekanismia kannattelevat koko euroa Ei ole syytä peitellä sitä tosiasiaa, että euron tilanne ja rakenne on hauras ja pinnan alla melko helposti haavoittuva. Valuuttaunionia on jo jonkun aikaa kannatelleet kaksi taustalla pyörivää mekanismia. Molempia masinoi EKP.  Erityisesti Italian valtion- ja  kansantalouden kannalta molemmat mekanismit ovat hyvin tärkeitä, ehkä elintärkeitä.
